Brian Merriman grew up in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea, where he was immersed in nature. His intrinsic connection to the land and environment has inspired him to view the world through a different lens.
On completion of his Diploma at Queensland College of Art in 1980, he formulated an intricate craft focusing on landscape. Many years of his adult life was spent working in the rural towns and deserts of Australia. It is here he developed a strong admiration for his country. ‘Reflections’ is a body of old and new work spanning over 40 years.
Brian Merriman’s landscapes gift the viewer a serene and whimsical snapshot of Australia.
