Stephen Tiernan’s solo exhibition explores the transient connections and the silent narratives that unfold in one's solitude whilst sitting in the confined space of the train carriage. The work is a collection of fleeting encounters between the artist and the other train passengers who, despite their proximity, remain isolated in their own individual worlds. Each individual carries their own story and purpose, yet they are bound by a shared connection whilst on their train journey. By focusing on the everyday act of travel that is both intimate and distant, the artist seeks to highlight the beauty in the brief moments of human connection.
