ABOUT the HOUSE
Work by Melanie Hinds
In this photographic series, we invite you into a world where the traditional image of the housewife is playfully subverted, revealing a deeper truth about the women behind the lens. What may appear as a sarcastic portrayal at first glance is, in fact, a celebration of authenticity and feminine strength.
Our subjects, ranging from fashion designers to ceramicists, express their individuality through their craft. These women approach their art with a humble and hardworking attitude, continually striving to evolve and grow. They navigate a space that is often fraught with challenges and barriers, yet they do so with grace and resilience.
In our series, we aim to shed light on the multifaceted nature of womanhood and creativity. We invite you to look beyond the surface of a domesticated housewife. These women are not merely subjects; they are shaping the world around them with their art and their unapologetic authenticity.
